Printer ink firm Lexmark has launched a new service to help those working in the healthcare sector.

The firm's Patient Admissions and Registration Solution has been designed to simplify processes in a paper-intensive area.

According to Lexmark, the latest product lets healthcare providers electronically capture, route and organise patient documents accurately and securely.

On top of this, the technology and printer ink provider claims its new innovation can "streamline document-driven routines" in any health organisation.

Meanwhile, Xerox recently released its seventh annual Path to Paperless Survey, which revealed that many mortgage lenders are managing to keep their printer ink costs down.

The company revealed that around 70 per cent of mortgage professionals now deliver disclosures and other documents to consumers electronically.

Keith Plaski, principal at radius financial group, said: "Xerox has the industry experience and technical expertise to change the way we do business with borrowers and to increase our operational efficiency.

"They helped us meet our goal to not just survive the mortgage crisis, but also to come out stronger than ever."
