Those wanting to support the environment and not throw their used ink cartridges to landfill have been offered some advice on how to use them as a decorative feature in their home or office.

According to a post on If It Prints, I'll Let You Know, used ink cartridges have been recycled by one firm to create a novel desk lamp. The listed description of the lamps showed that the transformation was completed through carefully cracking open the cartridges, before they were drilled and wired to feature a six-watt bulb.

Meanwhile, it is also noted that those not wanting to put the lamp on their desks could also use it as a hanging light, with matte black, yellow, cyan and magenta among the colour options available. Those happy with their current light designs have also been told that they could lend their support to charity by recycling any print cartridges.

The World Cancer Research Fund is encouraging people to donate any used cartridges so that the firm can send them off to raise money to go towards its cancer prevention work.
