If you have tried to use a black ink cartridge and nothing is coming out, it may be a clogged print head or there may be air in the printer system.
In order to clean your black nozzle or print head, open your printer’s software and select the clean option. This may need a few attempts to actually work, so you need to be patient. To avoid this in the first place, you can get into the habit of cleaning out your printer once a month.

If you are still missing black ink after cleaning the print head a few times, the problem may be that there is air in the printer system.
The next thing you can try is to download the Black Printer Test Page below. This won’t waste your other ink colours, as it only prints in black, but it will force the air out of your print system.
Right click on the image below and then click ‘Save As’. Then you can print it out.
