If you’ve looked online for support for compatible ink cartridges, you may have seen material aimed at US consumers that uses unfamiliar cartridge numbers.
This is because brands such as HP, Epson, Canon, and Brother use region-specific coding for their products which locks cartridges to be used in that region only. The UK uses the same system as the rest of Europe, whilst the US and Canada have a separate system. Your UK or European printer inks will therefore not work in a North American printer, and vice versa. This is similar to how DVD region codes work for digital rights management.

Can I Use US Ink Cartridges in the UK?
No, you cannot use cartridges for the American market in the UK.
If you’re moving to the UK from the US, or vice versa, this means that you cannot take your old printer cartridges with you. Your best option is to purchase a printer in your new country of residence and buy suitable ink cartridges.
As a UK-based company, our compatible and OEM cartridges are the UK/European versions.

Can I Use UK Cartridges in Europe?
Yes, if you’re moving between the UK and the rest of Europe, you can take your old cartridges with you. This is because Europe and the UK are part of the same region. However, you should check your exact country first, as the UK and Europe region (known as EMEA) includes parts of the Middle East and may exclude some parts of Eastern Europe.
Can I Use European Cartridges in Canada?
No, Canada is part of the same regional system as the US. If you live in Canada, you therefore need to ensure that you buy the US editions of compatible and OEM cartridges, not UK/European ones.

Due to shipping and customs procedures, we are only able to sell to customers in the UK (England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland), the Isle of Man, Jersey, and Guernsey. We do not sell to the Republic of Ireland or to the rest of the European continent.
