Camera, printer and ink producer Canon has announced its new imaging platform to connect users directly to cloud computing services.

The imageRUNNER ADVANCE will offer greater connectivity to Canon customers' office systems.

Furthermore, it will give firms the ability to scan and store documents on Microsoft SharePoint Online or Google Docs, which are accessible from any PC, mobile or smart phone.

Trevor Dodsworth, head of product marketing, business imaging group at Canon UK and Ireland, said: "For the first time, Canon customers can scan and save to, and print directly from the market's leading cloud services."

He added that it is only by listening to customers that the company can deliver solutions to improve printing and computing services for them.

Recently, the company launched its new imagePRESS C7010 VPS series in Barcelona.

It claims that the new portfolio offers improved efficiency and reduces costs with increased productivity in digital colour press technology for customers and firms.
