Canon Gives Out Help Guides To Improve Document Security
Printer and ink firm Canon has launched its first hardening guides advising customers on how to get the best security configuration for its imageRUNNER ADVANCE series.
The help guides come as part of Canon's strategy to help companies and consumers reduce the risk of exposure for their document security.
Furthermore, the firm claim that organisations must have a secure printing strategy in place and these manuals can help lower the risk of threats and data leakage.
Quentyn Taylor, director of information security at Canon Europe, said: "Organisations need to understand the risk they potentially expose themselves to by leaving MFDs (multifunctional devices) unprotected, as well as the positive impact on security MFDs can provide."
Recently, the printer firm announced that its imaging platform would allow users to directly connect to its services from cloud technology for the first time.
The company said it would give offices the opportunity to create and control workflows more effectively.
