Canon Malaysia has outlined its aim of achieving higher sales in the printer ink industry.

The firm is set to focus on the small office/home office and small and medium enterprises markets as part of its attempts to increase profits, with new models including a laser model and four inkjet devices.

Donny Ling, director of consumer system products division, said: "We are optimistic of achieving the sales target for Canon's new printers this year and further enhance the brand’s leadership in inkjet printer market."

Mr Ling explained that the company is also aiming to help transform Malaysia into a high-income country, while providing companies with the best equipment available.

Last month, Canon launched its cloud-friendly MX892 printer, which boasts a selection of connectivity options.

The device allows documents to be printed via the cloud and other portable devices, while automatic duplexing is also supported by the model, which could help firms to make savings on paper costs.
