Canon's Pixma MG220 printer has come in for a negative review from Computer Shopper, which claimed that the system is slow and carries high costs.

The site's reviewer William Harrel wrote that the hardware brings high costs per page and boasts a wasteful ink cartridges system, while its lack of automatic duplexing and Wi-Fi were also cited as issues.

Mr Harrel gave the Pixma MG220 printer a score of 2-and-a-half stars out of five, but praised its extremely low price.

"If price is your main consideration in buying an AIO, they don't come much cheaper than the Pixma MG2130. It is a classic get-what-you-pay-for proposition, however," he noted

Mr Harrel explained that the model does not deliver the high-quality photo prints that are usually associated with the manufacturer.

Despite the negative review, Canon recently received an award from the European Imaging and Sound Association (EISA).

Its PIXMA PRO-1 inkjet system picked up the European Photo Printer 2012-2013 honour.
