Printing expert Dell has released its annual report, highlighting key areas where businesses could be leaving themselves vulnerable to threats.

The report uses data from its SonicWALL Global Response Intelligent Defense (GRID) Network and found that malware is still a massive issue for those wanting to use a printer over a network. It found that, with more than 78 billion hits around the globe, remotely accessed malware is putting a number of organisations at risk of significant damage. Browser-based attacks were also a big problem, with Java being the most targeted software, closely followed by Internet Explorer and Adobe Flash Player.

The report highlighted areas that businesses big and small need to be aware of in the year ahead, especially when using a network for their printer or computers. It also noted that many new cyber threats are on the rise, such as bots that rely on SSL-encrypted communication to Command and Control servers.
