The Epson AcuLaser M8000N mono printer has long-lasting toner cartridges and is able to print A4 pages more quickly than most equivalent A4 printers, it has been revealed.

According to a review of the device on, this is because it prints sideways, meaning that the printer can pass through sheets at a quicker rate.

This allows the M8000N to print at 44 pages per minute, making it ideal for busy offices, the website suggested, particularly as it has a telescopic paper tray that can hold both A3 and A4 pages.

"Physical set up is very easy; lift the top cover and slot in the combined drum and toner cartridge, which should be good for 15,000 pages," it concluded.

Software installation was also found to be easy, while there are drivers available for the printer to be used with Windows, OS X and various versions of Linux, Unix, Citrix and Novell operating systems.

Meanwhile, the Seattle Times has urged printer users not to rely solely on ink-level monitoring software to know how much is left in their ink cartridges.
