Print professionals looking for the best performance in terms of colour may want to consider using a printer from the Epson Stylus Pro 7900 or 9900 series.

Both wide-format inkjet printers have achieved 98 per cent coverage of the Pantone matching system, meaning that individuals can benefit from a wide array of shades.

Epson's high dynamic range inkset includes orange and green ink, which increases the number of final colours available, such as bright green.

Meanwhile, a unique three-level black ink technology ensures a smoother tonal range by improving the look of the use of grey, particularly in highlight detail and mid tone.

Andy Hatkoff, vice president of electronic licensing at Pantone, said: "Epson has long been a Pantone partner, committed to ensuring accurate representation of Pantone colours.

"The ability to accurately reproduce Pantone colours is a critical element of the design process."

The Pantone matching system is the authoritative global reference for selecting, specifying, matching and controlling ink colours, with the company being internationally-recognised as the leader in terms of the provision of colour systems.
