Epson Says UK Ink Cartridge Recycling On The Up
Recycling ink cartridges in the UK is becoming more popular, Epson has said.
Firms, home workers and even individuals that may use printers only moderately, are increasingly looking at ways to become more environmentally friendly. Recycling ink cartridges and toner cartridges could be a great place to start.
Epson UK's customer services manager, Peter Figoni, said the firm had recorded a rise in people using its ink and toner cartridges recycling scheme.
"The volume of inkjet and toner cartridges returned has increased in 2010 against 2009, as both consumers and businesses take advantage of recycling schemes," he said.
What's more, reducing waste can also save firms money.
Sam Jarvis, head of communications at Waste Watch, recently said a focus on green initiatives is part of the "new business agenda".
"Businesses are persuaded by the financial savings they could make by reducing waste," Mr Jarvis said.
"At the same time, businesses are increasingly making the environment one of the key factors, as well as looking at how much money and profit they make – they're looking at how they treat their staff and how they treat the planet.
