Epson has released its LQ-690 impact printer, which is a new 24-pin flatbed model and the successor to the LQ-680.

The compact ink printer can handle cut sheets with ease and print continuous paper, labels, envelopes and cards for tasks including form invoices and orders, schedules and itineraries.

The system boasts a high ribbon yield of ten million characters, while also offering a built-in print speed enhancer to boost its output.

It is ideal for demanding work environments such as warehousing and logistics, building sites and travel agencies.

As well as this, the hardware offers a large memory buffer of 128 Kbs, low power consumption and a compact design.

The release of the LQ-690 comes after Epson introduced its SureColour S50670 and S70670 printers to the market, which are sure to appeal to a high number of customers.

Using a MicroPiezo print head, the systems boast faster speeds alongside the UltraChrome GS2 solvent-based ink technology.
