Epson Aims For 9m Turnover In Romania
Epson is working towards a €9 million (£7.1 million) turnover in Romania by the end of 2012.
The ink cartridges specialist posted a turnover of €4 million for the first half of the year, helped by a 20 per cent increase in sales of video projectors, which were used for sports events including the London Olympics and the European Championships, reports Business Review.
This forecast comes after the business confirmed a partnership with cloud-based POS systems developer Kounta, which will lead to a new range of retail printing solutions.
Jean-Marie Lacroix, vice-president sales emerging territories at Epson Europe, said: "We strongly believe that compared to the Western European markets, an emerging market like Romania is key for us even though it has not reached the same level of expansion."
At the moment, Epson commands a 33 per cent share of the local market of projectors in the country and hopes for this to increase to around 35 to 38 per cent by the end of the year.
