Epson UK to be number one player
Epson UK has vowed that it will become the "number one player" in the professional printing market, releasing a number of new inkjet machines.
According to Print Week, over the next 18 months the printing expert will launch another ten units, to grow its portfolio of machines aimed at the professional user. This will take its number of specialist units up to 33 by 2016, increasing the company's diversity from its original roots of a photographic print specialist. In order to do this, Epson will need to continue its spend of more than £1.2 million a day on research and development, which is around six per cent of its annual turnover.
Phil McMulllin, UK sales manager, Epson UK Pro Graphics Division, said that the company's long-term aim was to become a “number one player in all of the markets we have now entered".“Clearly that is not going to happen tomorrow; this is a long term ambition. We believe the technology we have developed puts us in a strong position to develop that over the coming decade.”
