Hewlett Packard has unveiled its two latest printers, with energy-efficiency at the heart of the new devices.

The company's new LaserJet Pro P1102 and M1212nf multi-function printers boast HP's specially-developed energy saving technology Auto-On/Auto-Off (AOAO).

As the name suggests, this built-in technology sees the printers automatically switch to standby mode when idle, thereby cutting down on business or home energy bills, as well as carbon emissions.

In addition to this innovative eco-friendly system, the M1212nf boasts the ability to fax documents directly from a computer, thereby making a print-out unnecessary and saving paper and printer ink, while it is also able to scan both sides of a document and print them off on just one side of a page, the Malaysian Star has reported.

At the same time, HP has also unveiled its new Scanjet Professional 1000 scanner, with this new device geared towards allowing business users to scan on the move.
