HP Confirms US Toner Cartridges Shortage
Hewlett-Packard (HP) has said it is trying to deal with a shortage of some stocks of its toner cartridges, it has been reported.
The firm confirmed that its store of toner cartridges for its laser jet P1102W and laser jet M1212 printers, which are low-end monochrome printers, are running low, CRN.com reported.
Retailers have been struggling to get hold of the CE285A black cartridges for several months, the website said.
HP claimed that the shortage is due to "tremendous demand" for the P1102W and M1212 machines.
"We are working quickly to meet the growing market demand for this product and minimize the impact to our channel partners and customers," George Brasher, HP's vice president of laser jet supplies, was quoted by CNet.com as saying in an email.
But this shortage of cartridges doesn't appear to have affected the UK. This month, charities and voluntary organisations in Ripon received a donation of £4,000 worth of HP ink cartridges.
