HP Introduces Smart Business Awards
Ink cartridges manufacturer HP has announced its first ever Smart Business Awards in an effort to offer its support to innovative small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Britain.
Seven categories will make up the awards, with each of them recognising a different field. Victors will collect a HP kit and a package of business support services, while one organisation will pick up the HP Small Business of the Year title.
Susan Bowen, HP UK and Ireland director of strategy, said: "SMEs are the engine of growth and innovation for UK economy and we will be rewarding the best in the sector every year and we will be there to support them every step of the way."
Ms Bowen stressed that HP is happy to promote the fantastic work of businesses, particularly in the current economic climate.
News of the awards comes after the company announced restructuring plans, which will lead to roughly 27,000 members of staff departing the company by October.
