The HP Officejet Pro 8500 has received a pretty solid review from the team at Personal Computer World

People who work from home and offices alike may be interested to hear that the HP Officejet Pro 8500 has received a pretty solid review from the team at Personal Computer World.

It argues that the printer challenges the assumption that laser printers offer better value than inkjets when printing office documents by claiming to print at up to half the cost of a laser.

However, the review claims that while it may offer quick print speeds it is not quick to install the two print heads, four ink cartridges and HP software, not to mention the lengthy initialisation procedure.

The review's author Will Stapley commented on the ink cartridges, saying that a replacement black ink cartridge prints 2,000 pages while each colour ink cartridge prints 1,400 pages each.

"At just under £300, the low print costs are offset by a high initial outlay and the Officejet Pro 8500 won’t match the speed at which some lasers can print text-heavy documents. However, it’s loaded with features and capable of decent quality prints," he added.
