Hewlett Packard has set out its stall as it looks to boost its presence in the booming digital printing market.

The American corporation boasts the largest stall dedicated to display print technologies at this year's IPEX industry show, which is being held in Birmingham.

As well as the opportunity to see a simulated production floor in action, visitors to the printing industry show are being given the chance to see the latest HP printers and printer ink innovations, including devices geared towards digital signage printing, and those aimed at cutting the carbon footprint of the sector.

Commenting on the shift in emphasis, HP graphic solutions business senior vice president Christopher Morgan said: "In the last year, the industry experienced double-digit percent growth for digital colour production pages, while analogue pages declined

"This is a clear sign that the market has shifted, as print service providers and other graphic arts professionals are moving to digital systems so they can produce more targeted and creative materials while also improving quality and productivity."

Meanwhile, TrustedReviews recently praised HP's new LaserJet CP3525dn printer, noting that it represents a cost-effective option for small businesses looking to make use of colour printer ink.
