Printer ink maker Hewlett-Packard (HP) has been named a market leader for supplying managed print services (MPS) for businesses in Europe.

Industry analyst firm Quocirca accorded HP the accolade in its Enterprise Managed Print Services European Vendor Landscape 2010 report.

In its analysis of MPS in Europe, Quocirca looked at firms' experience and skills in providing MPS across the continent.

Quocirca praised HP's strategic vision and quality of service, also acknowledging its investment in its own MPS portfolio.

Arnold Marty, HP's vice-president and general manager for MPS in Europe, described the report as an important acknowledgement of HP's continued leadership in this growing sector.

"Today, HP manages the print environment for over 2,700 organisations globally including 1,000 in EMEA, generating savings of between 28 per cent and 48 per cent for these organisations," he said.

Recently, HP posted its fourth quarter financial results, with net revenue standing at $33.3 billion (£21 billion).
