Printer Company HP Reveal 2010 Cyber Security Threats
Printer, ink and computer company Hewlett Packard (HP) has published its 2010 Top Cyber Secuirty Risks Report, highlighting that cybercrime attacks can lead to financial and data loss.
The company's report revealed that there were more attacks in 2010, but the number of hackers discovering new PC security vulnerabilities in computers and networks was stable.
Mike Dausin, manager, for advanced security intelligence at HP, said: "We've discovered that rather than investing resources to uncover new exploits, attackers are focused on current, unpatched vulnerabilities in web applications, social networking sites and web 2.0 interfaces."
In HP's new report, from its Digital Vaccine Lab, it found an increase of web toolkits, which were the most popular choice of hackers in conducting attacks on businesses and individuals.
Computer security experts Norton announced many computer users do not think about cybercrime unless they become a victim of an attack.
Furthermore, the company added that if people are affected by an electronic attack not many people know what to do when it happens.
