Printer ink company HP has announced that it will appear at this year's EcoPrint Europe event on September 26th and 27th.

It will take place in Berlin, where the ink cartridges manufacturer will underline its focus on sustainability and the commercial benefits that can be attained by print service providers (PSP).

The company will also carry out demonstrations on the HP Designjet L26500, which utilises water-based HP Latex ink that is capable of producing odourless prints.

Stephen Goddard, environmental leadership programme manager for HP’s Graphics Solutions Business, said: "As suppliers, most PSPs would readily acknowledge that more and more customers – especially international brand owners – are asking them for more sustainable print solutions and, increasingly, driving them to implement more sustainable production methods."

Mr Goddard emphasised that printing while being conscious of the environment can save companies money.

As a way of recognising organisations that adopt innovative printing processes, HP has introduced its Smart Business Awards.

Seven categories will be included, with winners collecting a HP kit and a package of business support services.
