HP Awarded CRN Channel Champion Honour
HP has been named the CRN Channel Champion for 2013 in the consumer printers category, thanks to its customer marketing, channel focus and product innovations.
Canon came in second place after posting good scores on channel profitability and post-sales support, but HP triumphed after commanding the highest visbility through advertisements at local and national levels.
CRN noted: “HP was aggressive in bringing innovative products like hotspot printers and e-print technology that offered an edge over competition. They noted higher traction for HP Ink Advantage printers due to their lower printing costs and a high-decibel advertising campaign conducted by HP during the year.”
However, it also gave HP the lowest score on profitability because respondents accused the firm of channel over-capacity, while some stated that the firm has suffered market operating price (MOP) issues.
On the other hand, Canon scored the highest on profitability, while it was also praised for strong MOP control.
