HP is hoping to collect a higher market share with the introduction of its new Officejet printers.

Speaking to the Economic Times, Sumita Bhatia Vijh, country category manager of consumer imaging and printing products at HP India, said that the sector was contributing 20 per cent revenue out of the total turnover of $120 billion (£78 billion).

Lisa Reider, BLI’s senior product editor for environmental testing, said: “Only the best of the best earn BLI’s ‘Outstanding Achievement in Energy Efficiency’ award, and that covers the best energy and best overall performances. And thanks to an energy rate 55 percent lower than average, a rich environmental feature set and faster than average recovery times.

Ms Reider explained that the company was honoured to grant the award to such an “outstanding product”.

HP will be looking to gain further success in a market that is already full of competitors, including Canon, Samsung and Dell.
