HP supports UK education sector
HP, the printer specialist, has announced that it will be providing the equipment needed to kit out the admin systems in a number of institutions in the UK's education sector.
UNIT4 selected HP's managed cloud platform for its flexibility and to enable the implementation of software-as-a-service (SaaS) to a number of Further Education (FE) and Higher Education (HE) places in the UK.
HP's software will allow the educational establishments to complete the major administrative functions, including research, finance and payroll tasks, required to support both staff and students with education and research. UNIT4 solutions are currently being used by more than 150 FE colleges and over 100 HE universities in the UK.
“To drive greater efficiency and reduce administration costs, education institutions are investigating new IT delivery options such as SaaS,” said Darren Hunt, sales and marketing director for UK and Ireland, UNIT4 Business Software Ltd. He added that HP was selected because of its “proven track record in hosted services".
