Fake Ink Cartridges Discovered In Turkey And Italy
A swoop on warehouses in Turkey and Italy have uncovered tens of thousands of fake ink cartridges, including 1,000 fake Lexmark products.
The discovery was announced by Lexmark and as well as products adorned in their branding, there were also thousands more counterfeit printer cartridges masquerading under other printer brand names.
It is believed that the facility was being used as a repackaging plant which saw the building of complete counterfeit ink cartridges with reference to a number of different ink brands.
A spokesperson for the company said: "This raid was the culmination of an extensive investigation of a suspect who had previously been charged with trademark counterfeiting in the Turkish court system.
"Lexmark has recently taken action against manufacturers, distributors and resellers of these cartridges that violate Lexmark intellectual property."
