Sinn Fein MLA Racks Up Large Printing Bill
Sinn Fein MLA Pat Doherty has generated a printing bill of more than £16,000, after using a large number of ink cartridges in recent years.
A total of 185 cartridges were purchased by the West Tyrone member in the time period, as the bill for one year has reached £11,726, with his party conceding that the costs have to be reduced, reports the Belfast Telegraph.
The Irish News has listed the top 20 printer ink users in the country and Sinn Fein members are in nine of the spots.
Overall, Assembly members have spent almost £250,000 on printer toner in less than three years, with Sinn Fein using the most of the equipment.
The importance of exploring the cost of ink before selecting a printer was recently highlighted by PC Advisor, which has advised people to compare cartridge prices and longevity before committing to a model, while factors such as connectivity and paper loading are also important.
