Toshiba Introduces New Eco Friendly MFP
Toshiba has launched the globe's first multi-function printer (MFP) system that is capable of erasing images and text from a document.
The machine boasts the STUDIO 306LP MFP and the e-STUDIO RD30 features, with documents being printed on the former using an erasable toner, before images and text are removed through the RD30.
While the system offers innovative capabilities, the ink company will face stiff competition in the MFP market, with Ricoh existing as just one of the many businesses that have also made such systems available to consumers.
A representative from Toshiba said: "Normally, documents that have been used, for example, at a meeting, are either filed away or scrapped, but with this system, there is no filing or destroying of paper documents, and the contents of the documents can be converted into data and saved for future use."
The firm added that the machine's key features are its ability to sort paper into reusable and un-reusable sheets.
