Epson's new Stylus Photo PX650 printer will be launched in the UK for £129 on September 1st.

Unveiled by the printer manufacturer earlier this week, the device uses Epson Claria Photographic inks, which promise a wide range of colours and better colour reproduction.

Capable of printing directly onto CDs or DVDs, the printer can also print in resolutions of up to 1,200 dpi.

The printer is able to produce a 10cm by 15cm photo in around 12 seconds and can print up to A4 size. It is PictBridge-compatible and features a card lot, as well as a USB port that can be plugged directly into a digital camera or a PC.

Upon announcing the PX650 earlier this week, Epson UK product manager Paolo Marenghi said: "The PX650 produces high-quality images at fast speeds and is excellent value for money. It's the perfect partner for the latest D-SLR or compact digital camera."

Meanwhile, the Epson NX515 has been praised by About.com for its high-quality photo printing.
