Printer Ink Costs Can Be Controlled
Printer users can save money on ink in a number of different ways, technology expert Larry Magid has said.
The specialist noted that refilling toner cartridges is not the only means of cutting down on printer ink costs.
Writing for US publication Silicon Valley, Mr Magid said that calculating the cost of using ink per page is a good way to start reducing expenditure.
"Most printer makers will give you an estimate either of the price per page or the number of prints you'll get from a cartridge or set of cartridges, so you can check the price of cartridges and do your own math," he explained.
The expert added that the way users operate their printer also helps in ink cost reduction, suggesting that people should print out only the part of the document that they need to see.
Mr Lagid's comments come after Hewlett-Packard announced that it experienced a sharp decline in printer ink sales in the second quarter of the year.
