New Solution May Reduce Printer Ink Costs
Consumers and businesses looking to keep their printer ink costs may be interested to hear a new about a new piece of software that could help to cut the costs of toner cartridges and ink cartridges significantly.
The software, Preton Saver, helps users to reduce the amount of ink a printer uses. To operate users must tell the programme how much they want to save - anything from zero per cent to 70 per cent, and it will attempt to balance savings with print quality.
Writing about the product for PC World Preston Gralla wrote that 35 per cent was a happy medium as print quality degrades only slightly at that level, but retains reasonable savings. He added: "You can also use Preton Home Saver to fine-tune toner savings. You can, for example, have text print with more toner than images. Preton Home Saver also shows reports on your savings, showing how ink much you've saved, total printing volume, etc."
