The Lexmark Genesis, which isn't out in the UK yet, was previewed by David Gilbert at Trusted Reviews, who got a sneak peek of the machine at CES, the world's largest consumer technology trade show.

Calling it "one of the most striking devices" he saw at the expo, Mr Gilbert was suitably impressed by the Genesis.

Genesis uses Flash Scan technology that gives users instant previews of documents, features a versatile touchscreen interface, and offers extremely fast scanning thanks to its 10 megapixel image sensor.

"The speed of the 'scanning' really was impressive and is something which really makes the Genesis stand out from other printers," Mr Gilbert said.

Web-connected, the printer enables users to email at the click of a button, using "one-touch" tools.

Additionally, the use of individual ink cartridges means it will not be necessary to change the entire set of ink cartridges, even if only one colour is depleted. Users just change the one they need to change, Mr Gilbert said.
