Always Take The Weather With You With A Printer
It's probably the last place you'd go to see what the weather's going to be like next Tuesday – but a new tool that offers daily and weekly forecasts direct from a printer, that uses ink cartridges, could be the next big thing.
This week, Lexmark announced it had teamed up with online weather service AccuWeather.com to develop the latest addition to its SmartSolution app range.
Lexmark believes that given many small and medium-sized businesses count on a local weather forecast when planning the day, the tool will come in useful and save them time and money.
For use with Lexmark's web-connected all-in-one printers, including its flagship Genesis machine, users who download the tool set their location and access real-time weather updates by touching the AccuWeather icon on their machine.
Users can also print out a seven-day forecast to post up on the wall at firms so all employees can see it. The weather location can also be changed – useful for business travellers planning ahead.
According to a recent survey by Lexmark, office workers value the computer as their most stylish piece of equipment.
