Cleaning not only the dust but any dried ink from inside a printer unit can increase the efficiency and longevity of the model and so is highly recommended.

Dealing with any printer ink blotches and spillages from not only the cotton roller but the ink cartridges themselves first is recommended, according to the guide from the Printer&InkCartridge Blog.

However, when doing this, users must take care not to allow the alcohol and water mixture used to clean the roller to get soaked into the cotton or the printer itself will be ruined.

Using a vacuum cleaner on the insides of the unit is also a bad idea as this too can damage the system.

A damp cloth can be used to clean the outside of ink and toner cartridges, a practice which is especially recommended for users of refillable cartridges as these are prone to spillages and stains on the outside of the units.

Gentle touches and meticulous care is needed when handling the inside of printer units, but the outcomes allow for a much more efficient model.
