Value Of Luxury Ink Cartridge Fountain Pens Reiterated
Fans of glamorous ink cartridge fountain pens will be interested to hear that writing instruments are fast becoming a category of luxury goods which are gaining in popularity.
Collectors looking for rare pens are reportedly turning towards William Penn, the multibrand retail chain, for their premium fine writing instruments needs. An article in the Economic Times claims that since it opened its doors in India, William Penn has sold over 80 rare limited editions from various brands such as Caran d'Ache, ST Dupont, Sheaffer, Mont Blanc and Pelikan.
Nikhil Ranjan, chief executive of the firm in India, told the paper: "Since there's a market for vintage pens in India, William Penn is looking at setting up a collectors corner where we will be inviting people to buy and sell vintage pens. As with every collectible, the prices of these rare pieces appreciate year-on-year anywhere between 15 per cent and 25 per cent."
An expensive fountain pen engraved with the name of film legend Greta Garbo was recently stolen as part of a £10,000 robbery.
