USB Pens Provide Great Promotional Gift

Many companies are starting to use USB-ported pens as promotional tools

These devices are regular ink pens that contain a built in USB storage device, allowing users to store information on their 'pen-drive'.

However, a merchandising and promotions website has said that companies should build these gifts in a way that allows the ink to be refilled, maximising the longevity of the item and stopping it from becoming 'junk'.

Promotional-merchandise.co.uk pointed out that "nobody wants to receive rubbish, even if it is being given for free", adding that consumers these days are "spoiled" and need to see value even if the item does not cost them anything.

The firm also said: "Giving away corporate gifts may look generous enough in the eyes of the consumers. When you are giving more than just a pen, that is including a storage device and laser pointer, together in one, you are going the extra mile to provide your customers the best values."

Using pens as free gifts has long been a method employed by businesses as a way of maximising their brand exposure, and the addition of a USB storage feature has been dubbed an innovative way forward for the marketing tool.
