New York-based company DBA have created the first ever commercial 98% biodegradable pen - named somewhat unsurprisingly the DBA 98. The DBA 98 Pen has been designed and manufactured with a careful eye for detail, beginning with its simple and elegant design.

DBA are quick to note that apart from the roller ball and nib, everything from the cap, to the reservoir, to even the ink it writes with is completely biodegradable and non-toxic.

The DBA 98’s casing in particular deserves special mention for being made from a potato-based bio-plastic. Furthermore, the pen boasts FSC-certified packaging that is made from 100% recycled paper and printed with vegetable inks.We here at Internet-ink are all for ecologically friendly ways of disposing our unwanted waste, but when it comes to writing instruments, we would rather have a solid pen that lasts a lifetime - such as one from of our many fountain pen ranges.
