A reviewer has claimed the Canon Color ImageClass MF8450c laser printer does not have enough positives for the price.

The PC World expert said the machine has some nice copy, but it "falls short on printing power".

Although some of aspects of the design are deemed to be "quite good", the commentator believed there are not enough plus points on show for it to really stand out.

The critic said the device "prints some of the best plain text" ever seen, but is "just too slow, too expensive and too quirky" to earn recommendation.

In summary, the reviewer found it produced razor-sharp text, fast scan and copies, but it is held back by a high purchase price and slow printing speeds, while it produces pale colours and overly pink fleshtones.

According to Canon, the technology in the printer ensures the richest blacks by utilising only the black toner - instead of combining toner colours.
