A new all-in-one printer from Canon continues the trend for providing a multifunction solution that could be ideal for small or home office users.

In a blog post for Computer Shopper this week, Daniel and Sally Wiener Grotta look at the company's Pixma MX860 model and note that although the ink cartridges can be troublesome, it is good for copying and scanning.

The article states the device is "solid, reliable [and] easy-to-use", built to be robust and is also very quiet.

Another area singled out for praise is the printer's software installation, which the reviewers claim is straightforward until it comes to wireless configuration, which is slightly more complicated.

"Operating the Pixma MX860, on the other hand, is a breeze. The unit doesn’t offer all that many options and alternatives, so the interface is simple and intuitive."

Earlier this month, Cnet looked at the Canon Pixma MX330 and advised its printer ink set up was designed to "keep costs low".
