New PoGo Combined Digital Camera And Printer Unveiled
Polaroid has unveiled what is being hailed as the next generation of digital photography, a compact camera with a built-in printer.
Following on from the recent news that the company is due to discontinue its traditional instant cameras, its new PoGo all-in-one device has finally been unveiled.
Due to be released in Europe over the coming weeks, the new device makes use of innovative technology to enable users to print on the go, with special paper embedded with crystals meaning that traditional printer ink cartridges are not needed.
In fact, simply by heating up the paper, the PoGo can produce small photos in less than 60 seconds, though those users looking for a higher quality of picture are also able to send images to their phones or normal printers to be worked on at a later point in time.
To mark the US launch of the device, Polaroid has unveiled a special pink version aimed at supporting global breast cancer research.
Since the introduction of digital photography, sales of chemical film have dropped by 25 per cent a year since 2000, with only Fujifilm now supplying instant film to the US market.
