Printer cartridge and ink manufacturer Canon is to collaborate with Kofax on integrating new imaging technology.
According to Canon, nine of its devices will be fitted with Kofax's VirtualReScan (VRS).
The collaboration is expected to help businesses improve their efficiency through improvements to the accuracy of image processing.
Kofax VRS reduces the amount of time spent rescanning and adjusting copies, while converting poor quality documents into clearer images.
Trevor Dodsworth, head of product marketing at Canon Business Solutions, Canon UK, said the company is continually looking to enhance the user experience.
"By combining Kofax VRS technology with Canon's leadingwe are able to deliver greater value to our customers at no additional cost," he explained.
Mr Dodsworth added: "Joining forces with Kofax is a continuation of Canon's overall strategy to offer our customers the highest level of imaging as standard, as we continue to develop our high-speed scanner portfolio."
The roll out of scanners equipped with the new technology is due to be completed by the end of January 2010.
