first aid training at work

Internet Ink would like to thank Southampton First Aid for arranging this years HSE First Aid staff training. They have managed to send a trainer to our premises as we have multiple staff requiring both renewals and complete courses. This option has meant that staff have minimal disruption with no additional travel time.

First Aid training is taken seriously as employees have the potential to suffer injuries or illness at any moment. It is important to address injuries or illness quickly and correctly. The Health and Safety (First-Aid) Regulations 1981 require employers to provide suitable first-aid equipment, facilities and people, in order for employees to be given the correct and immediate help should they require it. The minimum first-aid provision on any work site is:

- an adequately stocked first-aid kit.
- an appointed person to take charge of first-aid arrangements.
- information for employees about first-aid arrangements.

Southampton First Aid offer courses at the classrooms in Southampton and Lymington as well as onsite courses for larger companies. They also offer the RYA first aid at sea courses.

Knowledge of first aid promotes a healthy and a safe work environment, as well as encouraging confidence amongst employees. Basic first aid knowledge is helpful in dealing with potentially dangerous situations. Being trained in first aid is useful to individuals as well as their colleagues, and Internet-ink would again like to thank Southampton First Aid for providing training.
