Two men who allegedly stole ink cartridges from a York Township pharmacy in the USA became rattled when they heard sirens and led police on a high speed chase to Loganville Thursday night.

Shawn Cornell Stewart of Hyattsville, Md., and Robert Delano Ingram of Washington, D.C., are facing charges of retail theft, receiving stolen property and fleeing police, as well as vehicle violations.

The suspects drove at high speeds on wet roads until they lost control. Their Toyota Corolla skidded through a front yard and crashed into a concrete wall. Both men ran from the car into nearby woods as officers pursued, police said.

Police said they saw more than 10 packages of HP printer cartridges fall when one of the men, later identified as Ingram, fell to the ground. He was arrested as other officers continued to chase the second suspect. Stewart, the second suspect, was apprehended about 100 yards from Ingram. He was also arrested.

Police who checked the crashed vehicle observed another bag full of HP printer cartridges, according to charging documents.

Stewart is charged with six counts of retail theft and two counts of receiving stolen property. Ingram is charged with six counts of retail theft, two counts of receiving stolen property, two counts of fleeing police and four traffic violations.
