More People Should Be Allowed To Work From Home
More should be done by "enlightened organisations" to allow people to use their printer ink while working from home, according to an industry expert.
Shirley Borrett, development director at the Telework Association, said that employers have the notion that only carers and parents deserve to be able to work flexibly.
"But what about all those people that don't have children? They still deserve a life. They might have other interests or hobbies; they might ride horses or train for an Olympic sport or do almost anything," she added.
Ms Borrett went on to say that if working from home is not going to be detrimental to the team or the organisation then there is no reason why it should not be available to everyone.
Recently, the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development said that the government should extend the right to request flexible working to everybody at the earliest opportunity.
