Businesses and homes have been reminded of the benefits of recycling ink cartridges, toner cartridges and any other printer ink by members of The Barn teen centre who have so far recycled 385 ink cartridges and 74 toner catridges.

This impressive haul managed to bag the group a staggering £395 from Cartridge World of Fairfield County as part of a community-friendly way of raising awareness of the need to recycle ink cartridges that also managed to help the Barn.

Linda Caponetti, the Barn director, said: "Aside from providing needed funds for the Barn, it has heightened awareness of the negative environmental impact of ink cartridge waste in landfills."

This follows the recent example of the Bedford, Biggleswade and District branch of Cats Protection, which informed local residents that if old mobile phones and ink cartridges are donated to them then they can recycle the goods to raise funds for the charity.
