A volunteer has managed to raise over £5,000 pound by collecting printer ink cartridges for recycling.

According to the Dunmow and Broadcast Reporter, Martyn Linwood has been running a printer ink cartridges recycling programme since 2004. Recently he set up an operation on eBay, realising the site had significant potential.

Mr Linwood gives the money to a local charity, Support 4 Sight, which is desperate for funds. It has taken printer ink and toner cartridges for recycling for many years.

Support 4 Sight's services development officer, Christine Marshall, told the newspaper: "We are so grateful to Martyn for operating this recycling scheme and donating so much money to us.

"The funds raised through this recycling operation have proved invaluable in helping Support 4 Sight provide services to blind and visually impaired people and their families over the years."
