Ink cartridge and printer manufacturer Ricoh UK has announced that Philip Keoghan, the firm's chief operating officer, has become its new chief executive.

The appointment will see Mr Keoghan replace David Mills, who has now become executive vice president of the firm's European operations.

Prior to working at Ricoh, Mr Keoghan was UK president for IKON office solutions.

He said: "I am fully committed to ensuring that our customers continue to see us as a trusted partner delivering strong business value and I look forward to developing new growth opportunities including IT services."

Recently, Ricoh was recognised for the eighth consecutive year by the FTSE4Good Index, with its environmental management plan awarded best practice status.

The index measured the company's performance against similar firms over 23 markets around the world before making its decision.

Director and deputy president at the ink cartridge producer, Takashi Nakamura, said being recognised again sends out a positive message to investors and stakeholders about Ricoh's corporate responsibility to encouraging sustainable business practice.
