Samsung has announced the release of a selection of new ProXpress mono laser printers and multi-function printers (MFP).

These are aimed at small and medium-sized business customers and for home office use, with the products providing fast print speeds, high quality of printing and versatility for users who require low operating expenses and high performance.

The M4020ND, M3820DW, M3320ND printers and M4070FR, M3870FW and M3370FD MFPs provide an all-in-one integrated toner system, along with robust eco features and duplex printing to provide lower operating costs and higher efficiency.

The specifications

All of the new models provide fast, dependable output that is also economically efficient for business users, with the units enabling document and image processing to increase work flow through the Cortex A5 processor.

The machines also offer up to 256MB of memory, while all of them are equipped with standard automatic duplex, facilitating printing on both sides of the page.

Furthermore, the systems boast multi-purpose trays that support media weighing up to 58 pounds, providing more printing choices for professional documents, ranging from labels and cards to envelopes.

This tray offers versatility and usefulness to consumers, while the Multifunction ProXpress M3870FW and M4070FR include a duplex automatic document feeder, giving users the chance to easily copy, scan and fax double-sided documents.

On top of this, the machines can improve office efficiency as they offer scan speeds as high as 24 ipm for single-sided documents.

Both of the series also come with Samsung’s Rendering Engine for Clean Pages technology as standard, which improves the readability of printed documents by enhancing thin lines and sharpening the edges of negative text.

This, along with print resolutions of up to 1,200 x 1,200 dpi, means the ProXpress series provides exceptional image quality.

All of the units also come with the Samsung Easy Printer Manager, which integrates print management processes into one easy-to-use system, meaning it is easy to share with other users.

Tod Pike, senior vice president of Samsung’s enterprise business division, said: “Small to medium-sized businesses and professionals who work at home are increasingly seeking lower operating costs for maximum profitability without sacrificing on high performance.

“The Printer ProXpress and the Multifunction ProXpress series are built to offer an efficient experience with fast speeds and high quality images at a reasonable cost.

“In fact, our ProXpress MFPs fall into what IDC calls ‘the sweet spot of the monochrome laser MFP market,’ predicting that this segment is expected to post the highest compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 10 per cent compared with other speed segments in this market by 2017*.”

Samsung’s attitude to efficiency

Samsung’s Easy Eco Driver and One Touch Eco Button enable customers to effectively manage printing options, with functions helping consumers to reduce paper, toner and energy consumption.

The Easy Eco Driver can decrease toner use by up to 20 per cent with the toner saving mode, enabling users to remove images and convert from bitmap to sketch format.

As well as this, bold text can be removed in order to save toner, while four different toner cartridges supporting separate printing volumes are available.

Security features of the new models

All of the models will benefit from enterprise-level security with Samsung SyncThru Admin, enabling better control of user, document and network access.

Customers can also securely print by using a numeric key pad on all units besides the M3320ND.

After entering a PIN, a user can opt to send a confidential or personal print job from the driver, which is tailored for government and healthcare customers who are printing secure documents.

Samsung embraces mobile printing

As well as the launch of these new machines, Samsung has been busy promoting its new Mobile Print App, which enables users to print and scan from any mobile device with a Samsung network shared printer.
