Boeing will work with Xerox in order to deploy a managed print services strategy that will enable it to save on ink.

A six-year Enterprise Print Services contract has been agreed, which will see Xerox consolidate devices such as printers, copiers and fax machines in order to take into account energy efficiency and ink use.

Kevin Warren, president of US client operations at Xerox, said: "We responded with an MPS plan that serves their specific needs for advanced security, environmentally sensitive work strategies and simplified ways to manage both printed and digital information."

Mr Warren stated that Boeing was looking for a strategic partner in order to innovate their business processes and reduce their spending.

Dell is another company that has made efforts to help businesses with their ink management.

The firm has announced its Print Solutions Webinar Series, which aims to provide assistance with printing costs.

Experts offering guidance as part of the events include author and consultant James Gaskin, who will pinpoint how the cost of printer consumables can be reduced.
